Demetri Zaremba Obituary, Death – Jeffery Ford Zaremba, 77, of Waterford, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at home in the company of his loved ones. He was the son of the late Benjamin and Annette (nee: Simale) Zaremba and was born in Hammond, Indiana, on January 26, 1940. Jeff lived in Wisconsin for 25 years despite being born and raised in Northwest Indiana.
He attended Morton High School and graduated in 1958. He proudly served in the US Army after graduating from high school as a member of the 82nd Airborne (1958-1961). In 1959, while serving in Germany with the Army, he wed Diane (née Pete). Later, he was a student at St. Joseph’s College. Jeff has a wide range of passions and interests. He was devoted to God, his family, and the football team at Notre Dame.
He has been a longtime, active member of the Waterford Post #20 of the American Legion. Particularly in his favorite location in Minnesota, Jeff enjoyed fishing. He liked to play golf, read, cook, and go on walks in the Indiana Dunes. His wife Diane; children Kirk Zaremba, Scott (Judy), Kimberly Benson, and Patrick (Sherri); grandchildren Tony (Kristin) Beison, Nicholas Zaremba, Stephen (Melissa), Demetri (Karicka), Amanda Beison, Siara (Trae) Christenson, Ashley Benson, Ariann Zaremba, and Samantha Zaremba; five great-grandchildren; brother Joseph “Jay” (Patti) Zaremba; Allen and Timothy Zaremba, Jeff’s brothers, both passed away before his parents.
On Saturday, October 21, 2017, a memorial ceremony will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford, WI 53185, with mass beginning at 12 PM. The church hall will then host a luncheon. Jeff’s family would prefer memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in place of flowers. The Pro Health Home Hospice and Cancer Center staff has received the sincere gratitude of Jeff’s family for their excellent care.
