Marcus Rodgers Obituary, Death – Two people were killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision that happened on Route 44 in Winchester, according to accident reports. One of those that passed away was William O’Leary, who was 84 years old. Plymouth served as Mr. O’Leary’s permanent residence. The second person was easily identified as the same age as the first, a young man from New Hartford.
He was barely 16 years old at the time. Since his family requested that it not be done, his name has not yet been made public. The Winchester Police Department has provided information indicating that the collision occurred on Tuesday night at around 7:32. The crash location has been discovered, and the police have decided that it is typical of the area due to the “rock cuts” present.
Glen Ragin Jr., 23, of Torrington, Connecticut, and Emanuell Caban, 18, of Waterbury, Connecticut, was apparently driving a white 2021 Lexus NX300 when they reportedly passed a box truck that was going in the same way on Route 44. The early investigation indicates that this was what caused the collision. In the same direction as the box truck, it was moving.
During the incident, Ragin entered the westbound lane and hit an automobile driven by O’Leary. Along for the ride with the driver was O’Leary. A 2022 Chevrolet Equinox was the vehicle in question. The crash caused significant damage to both of the involved cars. The artifacts will be examined by the investigators to check for any mechanical faults.
Numerous additional types of evidence will also be acquired. Caban was sent to Hartford Hospital for treatment following the incident because he had many wounds, including a shattered femur. Ragin’s status remained unknown, but it was presumed that he had only sustained minor injuries. As of Wednesday afternoon, investigators were still probing the collision that took place earlier that day. Call the Winchester Police Department at 860-379-2721 if you have any information about the collision.
