Stewart Taylor Obituary, Death – After a courageous fight against cancer, Stewart Taylor passed away yesterday; our hearts go out to his family and friends, and we extend our most sincere condolences to them. Without Stewy’s assistance, the Eildon Fire Brigade would not have been able to operate as well as it did. Ten years of his service were spent in the function of 4th Lieutenant, and he also served as the Asset and Maintenance Officer for the department during that time. He held both of these positions simultaneously.
In acknowledgement of the exemplary and selfless service that Stewy has provided to the organization over the course of the past 15 years, he was recently presented with the National Medal in addition to the 15-year Service Medal that he had already been awarded. This was done in light of the fact that he had previously received the 15-year Service Medal. Stewy’s efforts in putting out the fires earned him not just the Congressional Medal of Honor in 2009, but also the National Emergency Medal.
Both of these medals were awarded to him. We are keeping his family in our thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time. We are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers at this time. During this period of sorrow for Stewy’s passing, the individuals who were a part of the Brigade as well as the general community will offer their most heartfelt sympathies to one another.
