Jim Chase Obituary, Jim Chase Sadly Passed Away
Jim Chase Obituary, Death – On September 24, 2022, James A. Chase, who had been a resident of Walkerton all of his life, passed away at the Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He had lived a full life and was 76 years old when he passed away. His parents, the late Leland and Loretta (Garrod) Chase, welcomed him into the world on December 6, 1945 in Paw Paw, Michigan. Recent reports indicated that he had passed away. Since 1973, when he first settled here from Paw Paw, Michigan, he has considered this part of Walkerton to be his permanent abode. James tied the knot with the person he was going to spend the rest of his life with, the late Suzanne M. Labadie, in Grosse Pointe Farms, which is located in the state of Michigan.
He was very interested in the activities that took place at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Walkerton over the course of more than half a century. He loved to dance, especially square dancing, and he even had a job as a “Caller” at a number of different clubs in the area that sponsored square dances. He had a lot of passion for dancing. James was the kind of person that got a kick out of being able to assist other people, particularly his neighbors whenever they found themselves in a difficult situation. James is survived by one daughter, Tracy (Michael Thompson) Chase-Thompson of Grovertown, one granddaughter, Sarah Thompson of Grovertown, two sons, Stephen (Bethany) Chase of Bourbon and Craig Chase of Walkerton, four brothers, Lee Chase of Montana, Bill Chase, Kevin Chase, and Roger Chase all of Michigan, and two sisters, Darlene Flora of Indiana and Barb Newstead of Louisiana.
