Raymond Smith Obituary, Reverend Raymond Smith Suddenly Passed Away
Raymond Smith Obituary, Death – Raymond (Ray) Eugene Smith is a local of the Lynnwood neighborhood of Washington and is 80 years old. On October 24, 2022, he passed away as a result of bone marrow cancer, which was the cause of his passing. He had been getting hospice care for a few weeks prior to passing away at home with his wife Nancy and son Gregory Eugene Smith by his side. He had been at home for several weeks. Rodney Pauline Smith of Backer City, Oregon gave birth to their son, Rodney Pauline Smith, on April 1st, 1942. He was named after both of his parents. Raymond utilized his time off during the summers to volunteer his assistance on the sheep and cattle ranch that belonged to his grandfather Harry Jacob’s 8X.
He attended Fort Vancouver High School and received his diploma in 1960 with honors in both the band and the physics departments. His formative years were spent in the Vancouver area of Washington (coronet). During their time together in the middle school and high school bands, he met the woman who would become his wife, Nancy. They didn’t meet one other until 1960, after a gap of two years, when they were both students at Washington State College. It was always a good time at Coug College. The year 1963 was the year that Nancy graduated from Western State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education 7-12.
They went through with the wedding in August of 1963. In the school year 1963, Nancy made her first appearance as a student. In 1965, Raymond attended Eastern Washington College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics Education from that institution. His first position in education was at Tillamook High School, where he worked in the physics department. He spent the rest of his career as a teacher in the Edmonds School District in Edmonds, Washington, where he taught pupils mathematics, chemistry, and of course PHYSICS. During this time, he was married to a woman who was also a teacher (33 years).
