Joshua Ewing Obituary, Joshua Ewing Has Sadly Passed Away
Joshua Ewing Death, Obituary – Joshua Ewing, a resident of Rockford, was shot and died in the accident that occurred on Wednesday, according to the Winnebago County coroner. On February 8 at 10:50 a.m., the Rockford Police Department tweeted that a gunshot investigation into an accident was continuing.
The public has been advised by police to stay away from the intersection of East State, Charles, and First Avenue. At 11:17 in the morning, another tweet was posted asking people to stay away from the area surrounding Chestnut and Winnebago while the police investigated.
Officers had been dispatched to the intersection of Chestnut and Winnebago streets in response to calls reporting gunfire when the collision occurred, the Rockford Police Department said in a statement. Observers saw a passenger in a white SUV shoot out the window toward the victim’s vehicle, according to the press release.
A short while later, not far from the intersection of Delaware Street and Newport Avenue, the empty SUV that had been reported stolen from Chicago was discovered. At 11:25 a.m., the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office was alerted of a shooting victim at a nearby hospital and asked to conduct an investigation.
It was discovered that Rockford resident Joshua Ewing was the incident’s victim. Ewing is 26 years old. The first inquiry revealed that Mr. Ewing was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed at around 10:30 am not far from the intersection of South Winnebago Street and Chestnut Street.
Both the Rockford Police Department and the Rockford Fire Department sent personnel to the area. After receiving medical care, Ewing was transported in an ambulance to the emergency department of a nearby hospital. At 11:20 in the morning, Ewing was pronounced dead despite everyone’s best attempts.
A February 9 autopsy revealed that Ewing passed away as a result of a gunshot wound. The Rockford Police Department is investigating this gunshot event at the moment.
