Matt Coker Obituary, Matt Coker Has Passed Away Unexpectedly
Matt Coker Death, Obituary – The family of Dr. Matthew (Matt) Jimmy Coker mourns the untimely passing of an extraordinary young man with a sad heart. Matt joined his heavenly Father and his parents, Jimmy Dale Coker and Sharon McRight Coker, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
At the time, Matt was 47 years old. Matt has a magnetic personality that has drawn people to him since he was a youngster. Matt grew raised in a home with his mother, father, and sister Tamsie. He was led for the remainder of his life by the basic principles he developed throughout this time period.
Matt excelled in sports at Killen’s Brooks High School. He was an offensive lineman and four-year varsity football letterman who graduated in 1993 with a big heart and a lot of love. Matt graduated from the University of North Alabama in Florence with a bachelor’s degree in biology.
He then graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree. He was diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy, a deadly disease, shortly after starting dental school. Despite the severity of his disease and the bleak outlook, Matt never stopped appreciating his life.
Matt finished his degree with determination and the assistance of his family. After graduating from dental school, Matt and his sister, Tamsie, established a dental practice in Florence that is still in operation today. Matt later established a Madison office in order to be closer to his child.
He married Nicole Cox immediately after finishing dental school. Evan Matthew Coker, their beautiful kid, has lightened Matt’s life. This was the beginning of Matt’s journey as a dedicated father who insisted on amazing adventures with Evan. Matt enjoyed his friends and family and was always making us laugh.
He had a large personality and made people laugh all the time with his jokes. Matt worked and enjoyed experiences with Evan, family, and friends for over twenty-one years despite his condition. Many of his pastimes were sailing on the Tennessee River, vacations to Disney World, and spending time in their Florida apartment with his companion in crime, Evan. Matt is survived by his son, Evan Coker, his sister, Dr. Tamsie Coker Rogers, and many loving friends and family members.
