Rose Murphy Obituary, Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland Member Has Passed Away

Rose Murphy Obituary, Death – Rose Murphy, of Liberty, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in the company of her loved ones. Rose, who was born on January 19, 1940, worked for Liberty Sportswear before devoting her life to assisting kindergarten teachers at Douglas Elementary and Walnut Hill Elementary in the Casey County school system. Mrs. Rose, as she was affectionately known by her students, never let herself get too busy to aid those in her class who really needed it.

After Rose retired, she frequently went on trips with her sisters Ann Lynn, Nancy Durham, Jeanie Murphy, and Tommye Allen, as well as their many other female friends. She found the most solace on the pristine beaches of Florida, but she enjoyed visiting places as diverse as Gatlinburg and Branson, Wisconsin, and Washington, D.C.

Rose’s parents, Tom and Oba Davis, and her devoted husband of 66 years, Ernest Murphy, had all passed on before her. Rose is survived by her daughter Jennifer, her husband Chris Godbey of Liberty, KY, and their daughters Emily (Jason) Fox and Natalie (Charlie) Fox, her son Jeff Murphy of Liberty, KY, and his daughters Eryn Murphy and Katie (Joe) Duffy, and her sisters. In addition to Stella, Vivian, Stanley, Boone T., McCauley, and Clara Rose, who are her six great-grandchildren.
