Dave Patton Obituary, Member Of The Mt. Olive Baptist Church Has Peacefully Passed Away

Dave Patton Obituary, Death – Dave Patton, who was 87 years old and lived in Morganton, North Carolina, passed away on February 10, 2023. He was the son of the late Hence Patton and Edith Bolding Patton, both of whom passed away before his birth on February 14, 1935 in Burke County. Dave was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where he had been a deacon in the past. Dave was a cattle farmer who specialized in raising Black Angus cattle.

He also enjoyed playing golf, listening to gospel and bluegrass music, and most of all, spending time with his family. Mr. Patton is survived by his granddaughter, Angie Reid (and her husband Andy), his daughter-in-law, Jeff Miller, his sisters Eldorador Norman, Edith Worsham (and her husband Darrell), and Kaye Cline (and her husband Carl), his brothers Troy Patton (and his wife Joann) and Edward Patton (and his wife Karen), his sister-in-law, Louise Murphy (and her husband Jim), his brother-in-law, Billy Shoupe (

Dave was preceded in death by a number of members of his family, including his wife Dorothy Stamey Patton, his daughter Kathy Patton Miller, and a number of siblings and sisters. Dave’s parents were the first to pass away. On Tuesday, February 14, the family will host a visitation at Mt. Olive Baptist Church from 1 to 2 p.m. for friends and family. The funeral will take place at the church at two in the afternoon, and the Reverend Michael Gantt will preside over the service. After the funeral, the body will be laid to rest at the church cemetery.
