Melinda Hickey Obituary, Member Of The Citizens Police Academy Alumni Has Died

Melinda Hickey Obituary, Death – Melinda Hickey, who had been in good health, went away suddenly on Friday. In 1999, Melinda was one of the co-founders of the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association along with Nancy Templeton. She was always willing to provide a helping hand and was an ardent supporter of the Chattanooga Police Department. She served on the board of the Chattanooga Police and Fire Athletic Association in many different positions.

During her time at CPAAA, she was not only an essential part of the organization of our Health Fairs but also served as the Vice President of Volunteers on the Board of Directors in previous years. Melinda possesses an unrivaled level of expertise regarding the Chattanooga Police Department; hence, it should not come as a surprise that she was named to the Police Advisory and Review Committee for District 6 in August of 2022.

In addition to her enthusiasm for the CPD, she was an outstanding tap dancer and took part in productions of The Nutcracker on an annual basis. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as you go about your day. We will keep you updated on the final arrangements as they become available. We are grateful to you, Melinda, for the many years of service you have given to the Chattanooga Police Department. Your kind and generous nature will always be remembered in our hearts, and we shall miss you very dearly.
