Donald Reid Obituary, Active Member Of Our Motorsport Rescue Team Has Died
Donald Reid Obituary, Death – Donald Reid passed away over the weekend. I’m deeply sorry about this. I ask that you accept my sympathies for your loss. At the same time that Alastair Gray, his close friend and brother-in-law, joined the Club in 1990, Donald became a member of the organization as well (think of them as Laurel and Hardy or Morecambe and Wise.
In 2011, Donald was not only appointed to the position of Social Convener, but he was also elected to the position of Director of the Club. In this capacity, he was in charge of coordinating the events that led up to the Curry dinner that took place in the beginning of December. He was a very active member of our Motorsport Rescue Team, and he eventually became a Mentor for Rescue Trainees so that he could use his knowledge and talents to assist others and give back to the community.
He was regarded in extremely high respect by a great number of individuals in the racing industry as well as outside of it; all of us here at the SMMC will miss him terribly. I would like it if you could convey my condolences to his wife Moira, his son Blair, his sisters Janice and Alison, as well as their husbands and wives Alastair and Hamish.
I have no doubt that you will acknowledge that I am correct and concur with me in my action. You are cordially invited to pay respect to the departed and share your recollections of them. The details of the funeral will be sent to those who are interested as soon as they become available to us.
