Joann Sager Death, Obituary – At the time of her passing on February 12, 2023, Mary “Joann” Sager had lived 85 years. She passed away at Franciscan Health Michigan City. The 19th of October is Joann Comerford’s birthday, and she was born in Decatur, Illinois, to parents named Robert and Helen (Noonan) Comerford.
Joann’s birthday is on October 19th. She wed Richard on September 1st, 1956, and he is still with us now. The wedding took place in a church. In addition, she is survived by her children, Kent (Michelle) Sager and Connie Norton, both of La Porte; her grandchildren, Daniel (Amanda) Sager of Muncie and LeeAnn (Jordan) Sager-Smith of Hyde Park, Illinois; her brother, Timothy (Linda) Comerford of Indianapolis; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition, she is survived by her children, Kent (Michelle) Sager and Connie Norton, both of La Her spouse, Daniel Comerford, passed away before her.
She was predeceased by her husband. Her grandparents, her parents, her son Christopher Kevin Sager, her brother John Comerford, and her son-in-law Thomas Norton all went away before she did. She was the only member of her immediate family that had made it this far.
After spending four years as a student at Northern Illinois University, Joann was awarded a bachelor of science degree in education from that institution.
She spent her entire career up until the point where she retired teaching history and English to high school students. After she reached retirement age, she was finally able to indulge her passion for exploring new places.
The Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in La Porte served as the place for the cremation that was carried out. A funeral service was done privately within the family for the deceased person.
