Jay Smith Obituary, Nova Scotia Resident Has Sadly Passed Away – Death
Jay Smith Obituary, Death – On September 6, 2022, Jay Smith, a devoted son, brother, and friend, passed away. Jay was the sole child of Veral Jay and Marie Ila Smith when he was born on August 21, 1958. He was an enthusiastic member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and frequently attended the Bountiful, Kaysville, and Ogden special needs mutuals (SNAP).
Jay was quite the tease cat and had a contagious chuckle. He delighted in interacting with others and taking part in different Special Olympics events. His favorite sports included bocce, bowling, and track and field, and he never liked to miss an event. For many years, Jay worked as the ward greeter. He also enjoyed being a home teacher and a minister.
He worked as a church service missionary in the cafeteria of the Ogden temple. He was friendly and used them frequently. He was tenacious, resourceful, and always remembered promises made to him. Also, he loved pens and would seize any that caught his eye. In addition to his parents and sisters Wanda and Elaine, Jay was also predeceased by his sister Linda Lynch.
All of Jay’s exceptional friends and caregivers have our sincere gratitude and love. There are far too many to list them all here, but a select few stand out for their exceptional service. First, Barbara (last name withheld), a caseworker who deeply affected Jay. Next came Brent and Janette Sorenson, Jeff Anderson, and Ron Haycock, all of whom spent many years keeping an eye on Jay.
Last but not least, Jay’s caregivers at Lindquist Mortuary, Life Care in Woods Cross, Andrea, a nurse practitioner, Jamie, his favorite nurse with Bristol Hospice who epitomizes all that is great about a special care worker, and all other Bristol employees who cared for Jay for the last several months.
