Maurice Grieshop Death – Maurice “Mo” Grieshop, who was 65 years old and lived in Chickasaw, Ohio, passed away in Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater, Ohio on February 19, 2023 at 7:53 p.m. on a Sunday. He was the son of John F. Grieshop and Alice (Fiely) Grieshop, and he was born on June 16, 1957 in St. Marys, Ohio. His father passed away in 1989, and his mother, Maria Stein, is still alive.
He was predeceased by his father. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Bernard & Nancy Grieshop of Portland, Indiana; Harold & Marilyn Grieshop of Montezuma, Indiana; Marilyn & Mark Turner of Carmel, Indiana; Theresa & Carl Lochtefeld of Maria Stein; Andrew Grieshop of Wapakoneta, Ohio; Daniel & Carla Grieshop of Osgood, Ohio; Phyllis Grieshop of Coldwater, Ohio; Betty & Trent Butler of Montezuma, Indiana; and numerous nieces His mother, an infant sister named Mary, and his sister-in-law, Sharon Grieshop, all passed away before he did.
Mo belonged to the Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw and served on the park boards in both Chickasaw and Osgood. In addition, he was a member of the Chickasaw Park Board. Throughout the course of more than 45 years, he had been employed at what is now known as the C.A. Lawton Foundry in Minster. Mo found immense fulfillment in his role as Santa Claus, which he had played for more than 35 years.
In addition to that, he cherished the time he could spend with his nieces and nephews. On Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 10:30 AM, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw, and the burial will take place after the service in Precious Blood Cemetery. On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, friends and family are welcome to call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Thursday. Donations to Chickasaw Park can be made in lieu of flowers if anyone so desires.
