Ronald Gordon Death, Obituary – Ron disclosed in a recent open letter to his followers that he had spent the majority of the previous year undergoing treatment for cancer. The letter was addressed to his supporters. When approximately one month had passed since the letter had been made public, Ron disclosed the information.

“Everyone at the Club is profoundly troubled by the news,” said Ben Kensell, the Chief Executive Officer of Hibernian, who stated that the statement was made. Our thoughts and prayers are with the members of the Gordon family who are still living, in especially Ron’s wife Kit, and the two children that she and Ron have, Ian and Colin.

Even though Ron was the owner of our company and served as its chairman, the role that brought him the most joy and happiness was that of a dedicated father to a large and loving family. This was the job that brought him the most joy and fulfillment.

During this extremely trying time, we ask that the family’s privacy be maintained so that they are able to grieve their loss in peace. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Ron was able to bring his enthusiasm, devotion, and love for the game to the forefront while he worked tirelessly to make the team the best it could possibly be in order to leave a legacy that will live on. Ron’s work with Hibernian FC allowed him to leave a legacy that will be remembered for a long time. Football was a pastime that held a special place in Ron’s heart.

The Gordon family is resolved to see this undertaking all the way through to its conclusion. Ben emphasized the fact that Ron’s long-term vision and plan for the club will be carried out with the support of the Board of Directors and the senior staff members in order to ensure the club’s future prosperity.

He made the announcement as a direct result of that decision, which is that our annual general meeting will take place within the first few days of March. At this time, the Club as well as the family will not be giving any additional statements to the media.
