Kameron Casto Obituary, Bringhurst, Indiana, 1 dead in Carroll County crash

Kameron Casto Obituary, Death – An accident involving a single vehicle that occurred on Sunday evening in Carroll County resulted in the death of one person and the injury of three others. An emergency call reporting a collision was received by Carroll County E911 at approximately 5:30 p.m. The collision occurred on CR 500 South, west of CR 50 East, close to the township of Cutler. As the first responders arrived, they found three injured people who had exited the vehicle and were standing nearby.

There was still a fourth person present inside the car, which was a white 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck. On the scene, it was determined that Kameron Casto, age 30, from Bringhurst, who was a passenger in the vehicle, had passed away. Devin Taber, 25, from Cutler was recognized as the person behind the wheel. Taber is still receiving care at the hospital, and his current health status is unknown. Christa Marvin, age 21, is still being treated in a hospital in Fort Wayne at this time.

The patient Kaleb Taber, age 23, has been discharged from the hospital. Both Marvin and Kalen Taber were traveling in the same vehicle as passengers. According to witnesses who were present at the accident scene, they spotted the truck heading westbound on CR 500 South from the vicinity of 50 East at a faster pace. At least one person was thrown from the truck after it left the north side of CR 500 South and crashed into a tree line for reasons that are unknown.

The accident caused the truck to leave the north side of the road. Alcohol use, according to the police, may have been a contributing role in the collision. Carroll County E911, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, the Flora Police Department, the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, the Cutler Fire Department, the Flora Fire Department, Carroll County EMS, Carroll County EMA, Lutheran Air Ambulance, and the Carroll County Coroner’s Office are among the agencies that are assisting with the investigation.
